The Foundation Modern Views working toward the preservation of \u00a0the\u00a0Farnsworth House<\/em> by\u00a0architect\u00a0Mies van der Rohe\u00a0and the\u00a0Glass House<\/em> by\u00a0architect\u00a0Philip Johnson.<\/p>\n

Modern views<\/strong>: project to Benefit the Farnworth House and the Glass House invited some of our era\u2019s top creative minds to continue one if the twentieth century\u2019s great cultural dialogues: the historic exchange reflected in the Ludwig Mies Van der Rohe Farnsworth House (1945-51) and the Philip Johnson Glass House (1949)<\/p>\n

Modern views<\/strong> was directed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation\u2019s Center for Modernism, at the Philip Johnson Glass House in New Canaan, Connecticut. As the management of the Farnsworth House shifted to the National Trust on January 1, 2010, this project provided the opportunity to revisit the dynamic exchange between these iconic buildings and their architects.<\/p>\n
